Outer Banks North Carolina Fishing Reports
No Cobia love
Went out looking for Cobia, but didn't have much luck. We saw five but caught zero. I guess when you have over a 100 boats throwing jigs at you, you get smart quick. plus the water was very dirty which doesn't help in spotting them. We did see one Cobia boated out of the crowd. I think we are going to switch tactics and try some livebait next trip. Call me and lets go fishing.
Well nobody wants to fish in the rain, except maybe me. After having to cancel a few trips because of bad weather, I headed out in the boat to do some scouting. The fish are already wet, so they don't care about the rain. I only found small fish that all went back in the get bigger, but it was better than sitting around the house. I do have some dates open if your ready to go fish, but please don't wait until the last minute to book.
It always a good sight to the Oregon Inlet bridge after a long day of fishing offshore. The bite has been great if you in the right spot when it happens. Some days are better than others, but it s always good being out on the ocean. The Tuna and Dolphin bite should stay strong for the next few weeks. Give us a call and book your trip soon.
I had my Cape Horn boat up in Portsmouth, Virginia, doing an in the water demo for Simrad at Ocean Marina Yacht center this Saturday. We took plenty of folks for a ride on the Elizabeth river and showed them the benefits of the new Halo radar and the 3D StructureScan sonar. Everyone was amazed at Simrad's new products on the NSS Evo2 12" display while play music thru the unit thanks to the Sirius radio hook to it thru the docking station. Simrad is the way to go for your all your boating electronics.
The Fin-Nagle fishing team had a great showing at the SKA- Southern Kingfish Association National Championship this year finishing in 1st place on day one, but couldn't find another big fish for day two, ending up in 3rd place overall out of 50 boats. We got beat by less than 3 pounds, but we had some great fishing. I would like to thank all of our sponsors who help us out all year.
Cape Horn boats, Simrad Yachting, Penn reels, Rapala, Super Spreader nets, Sirius satellite weather, and Shakespeare rods.
