Outer Banks North Carolina Fishing Reports

Fresh Stripers

Fresh Stripers I had to get out and do a little fishing this afternoon before the weather turned bad, so I made a trip to the inlet. It didnt look good when I got their and the lot was almost empty. When I got to the bridge, the tide was ripping out and 54 degrees, so that part look good. I started at one end of the bridge and went to the other, casting several different lures. Just about the time I was ready to give up, I hooked my first fish, but lost it right at the boat. Back I went to the same spot and tried again. After several cast, another hookup. This one made it into the box as did the next one. The sun was getting low by this time so I headed in with some fresh Stripers for dinner. The fish were in the 10-15lb range.
Kings are hungry

Kings are hungry I had a few of the guys out yesterday from the Outer Banks Anglers Club for a King Mackerel outting. The first task was finding bait, which didn't look good at first, but after running down the beach, I found a huge school. One toss with my new Super Spreader cast net and we had a load of turbo menhaden. Off we went to one of the best King fishing days I've had. RIght after the baits hit the water we had a fish on and caught fish all day. We limited out and headed in after a great day on the water.
Back on the beach

Back on the beach Just got back from Biloxi, MS fishing the Southern Kingfish Ass. National Championship were Marc & I finished 19th. What a great place to fish besides the Outer Banks. I am starting to book Rockfish trips for this winter. If you want to go, book now to get the dates you want, otherwise you get the dates I have left. We are still fishing here as the season changes. Offshore, its tuna, wahoo, and King Mackerel. Nearshore, Bluefish, Sea Bass, Togs, and a few AJ.
Shark anyone.

Shark anyone. Somedays we go looking for bigger fish and end up catching these guys. The coast is full of all different types of sharks, but most are small like this one and fun to catch.
After the storm.

After the storm.

Ok, I've finally got a new laptop, so I can post some reports. The fishing after the storm has been really good. Sunday, I caught a limit of nice Spanish Mackerel in no time. I had to troll faster the usual to keep off all the Bluefish. We were catching Bluefish 3 to 5 at a time. The trout bite has picked up in the sound and our fall Spot have also shown up. I haven't been offshore yet, but I've heard the Dolphin and Tuna bite has been pretty good. Yesterday, the boats had caught and released over 80 billfish. Lately, I started working with several other captains to ensure we can always get our clients out fishing, so if your itching for some fishing, give me a call or shoot me an email and we'll get you on the water.

Thanks, Ray
