Its almost summer and the Outer Banks fishing scene is not the best yet. Last week strong winds made casting in the sound very tuff. The Red Drum and Speckle Trout have been hide and seek fishing. One day they bite good and they next day you can’t find them. The Trout season is still closed until June 15. Just outside the inlet, the Bluefish have been snapping good and the Spanish Mackerel should be showing up any day. The Cobia bite has been on and off as well, but if you can find them, its a good chance you’ll catch one. Offshore the Dolphin bite has been the best choice. Most have been the nice big gaffers. The Tuna bite has been off this season, but should get better any day. A few boats have caught and released a few billfish as well. It’s shaping up to be another great fishing season on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I also had a few calls for guys that want to go shark fishing, so we went a few days ago. Caught a few spinners, blacktips, and hammerheads. Whatever you are looking to fish for or if you just want to go for a nice boat ride around the island, give me a call or shoot me an email and I’ll make it happen.
