Outer Banks fishing is getting better daily. A few Speckle trout and Red Drum have been taken lately around some of the favorite holes. The trout season is closed until June 15, so they are catch and release only. The offshore fishing has been hit and miss at best. There are some Bluefin tuna around and a few Yellowfin slowing up. Next month the Cobia should be moving thru on their way north to the Chesapeake Bay. I am booking trips for the Cobia as well as sound fishing for trout and Red Drum. I haven’t heard much in the way of Striped Bass in the sound other than the netters have caught a bunch. Maybe one day that fishery will be as good as it was in the mid-80’s. Don’t wait until the last minute to book your trip, because the date you want maybe be gone.
